What is an Endodontist?
An Endodontist is a dentist with special training in diagnosing and treating problems associated with the dental pulp (root-nerve, and surrounding tissues). Endodontics is one of the specialties recognized by the American Dental Association. This means an endodontists has completed at least two additional years of advanced training. In addition to performing root canal treatments, they also do root canal resorption repair and perform apical surgery to treat problems that cannot be resolved by regular root canal. An Endodontist is also trained to diagnose and find solutions to treat “cracked tooth syndrome”
